About Me

I've enjoyed math and problem solving from a young age. As I grew older, I found that carpentry really satisfied that itch. I honed my skills and focused on finish carpentry where I really developed my eye for detail. Designing and building new projects gave me a great sense of joy.

Eventually, I needed a webpage to host my portfolio. As an avid DIYer, I wanted to build one myself. I started learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy this process. The gears started turning, and I started to think about where I was going in life. I was coming home too physically exhausted to do anything but maybe eat dinner and lay down. I didn't get to spend as much time with my partner as I would like to. We had been discussing having children; I wanted and needed a career that would let me be present for them. My quality of life wasn't where I wanted it to be. Shortly after deploying my first website, I made the decision to pursue software engineering as a career.

Whether it's a full-stack web application or one page website, I love coding in all its forms. Take a look around, and enjoy your stay.
